Ballito Covid-19 News
23rd Dec 2020
23 December 2020 – A team member, who works as a Fruit and Veg Manager at Food Lover’s Market Ballito, has tested positive for Covid-19. His last day at work was on Monday, 21 December 2020 – two days ago. This team member let us know that he was feeling unwell and consequently had himself tested for Covid-19 yesterday – Tuesday, 22 December 2020. We were informally advised today of the positive test result. In the interest of transparency, we are letting you know about these developments and how we are addressing them.
This colleague had one close contact, and we have instructed this team member to self-quarantine for the remaining period of the 10-days since the last contact with a said colleague. This colleague is being monitored for symptoms of COVID-19 and will only return to the store once we are satisfied that this team member has not contracted the virus.
A professional cleaning company conducted a deep clean and sanitisation of the store yesterday (Tuesday, 22 December 2020) when our colleague was tested for Covid.19. All colleagues have been screened throughout this period and have not displayed any symptoms in the time since the affected team members were last in the store.
We wish our affected colleague well and look forward to welcoming him, and our other colleague, back to the store.
We will continue our practice of screening our team members on arrival at work daily and during the day, as well as following all hygiene protocols – including sanitising hands and surfaces, practising social distancing and wearing masks.
