07 January 2021 – Two team members, who work in the Butchery Department at Food Lover’s Market Ferndale has tested positive for Covid-19. The first team member was last at work on Friday, 01 January 2021 – six days ago. This team member called in to let us know that she was feeling unwell. She consequently had herself tested on Wednesday, 06 January 2021. We were formally advised of the positive test result today.
All team members that were in close contact with this colleague have been identified and have been instructed to self-quarantine for the remaining period of the 10-days since last contact with their colleague. They are being monitored for symptoms of COVID-19 and will only return to the store once we are satisfied that they have not contracted the virus.
The second team member was last at work on Monday, 04 January 2021 – three days ago. This team member called in to let us know that she was feeling unwell. She consequently had herself tested on Tuesday, 05 January 2021. We were informally advised of the positive test result today. In the interest of transparency we are letting you know about these developments and how we have already addressed them.
This team member had no close contacts.
A professional cleaning company conducted a deep clean and sanitization of the store on Tuesday, 05 January 2021 – after we were advised that our colleagues felt unwell. All colleagues have been screened throughout this period and have not displayed any symptoms in the time since the affected team member was last in the store.
We wish our affected colleagues well and look forward to welcoming them, and our other colleagues, back to the store.
We will continue our practice of screening our team members on arrival at work daily and during the day, as well as following all hygiene protocols – including sanitizing hands and surfaces, practicing social distancing and wearing masks.
