  1. JOB PURPOSE
  •        Coordinate financial support for the business in Food Lovers’ Inland stores, to achieve its financial targets.
  1. REPORTING STRUCTURE
  •        This position reports to the Group Financial Director and has a supporting role towards the Inland stores director.
  1. EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
  • Knowledge of accounting standards and principles;
  • Knowledge of business process in a retail environment;
  • Knowledge of retail store controls, i.e. daily cash up, sales reconciliations, stock movement reports.
  • Financial management principles;
  • Experience in utilizing financial data to support business in decision making.
  • Interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to persuade and influence;
  • Communication skills;
  • Problem-solving;
  • Analytical;
  • Creating and conceptualising;
  • Monitoring and reviewing;
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a commercial environment, preferably in retail or similar industry.
  1. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Chartered Institute of Management Accountants
  • Chartered Accountant, or similar
  1. JOB RELATED OBJECTIVES AND MEASURES
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders in the business, to influence decision making.
  • Develop and implement financial planning and reporting processes, to ensure that the financial and non-financial reports are accurate.
  • Continually assess forecasted performance and effectiveness of the business model in relation to the economic environment, market dynamics and competitor activity.
  • Ensure that the financial results of the business are recorded accurately in accordance with applicable accounting standards and relevant legislation.
  • Co-ordinate annual budgets, on-going sales forecasts and 5 year plans.
  • Design and maintain effective control of all retail store systems and procedures.
  • Financial up-skilling of store staff and regional management.
  • Interpret financial and management reports to identify business trends (sales, margin, waste, expenses) and implement actions to address in the business.
  • Prepare feasibility models and business cases from a financial point of view.
  • Assist in the delivery of operational plans by evaluating options, managing financial proposals and providing financial coaching and mentorship to stakeholders.
