FLM Upington Covid-19 News

8th Jun 2020

08 June 2020 – We have been informed that a team member, who was temporarily employed for two weeks at Food Lover’s Market Upington, has tested positive for COVID-19. The affected team member was assisting us in the Housewives Corner and left our employ 10 days ago – her last working day was 28 May 2020.

We have since been notified of the positive test result and made the decision to temporarily close Food Lover’s Market Upington for the duration of the day on 08 June 2020. The store will be deep cleaned and sanitised by a professional cleaning company this evening.

All employees that had direct contact with the team member have been instructed to self-quarantine for the remaining period of the 14-days since the last contact with their colleague and are being monitored for any symptoms of COVID-19. We will continue our practice of screening our team members on arrival at work daily and during the day.

We wish our affected colleague well and look forward to welcoming her, and the rest of our team, back to the store.

We intend to reopen the store tomorrow, 09 June 2020, on completion of the deep clean. We will continue to follow all hygiene protocols – including sanitising hands and surfaces, practising social distancing and wearing masks.
