Food Lover’s Market Menlyn Covid-19 News
16th Jul 2020
16 July 2020 – Two of our colleagues have tested positive for Covid-19 at the Food Lover’s Menlyn store and we were advised of their positive test results today.
The first team member works in the Fruit & Veg department as was last in the store on Sunday, 05 July 2020 – eleven days ago. The second team member, who works in the Hot Foods department, was last in the store on Monday, 06 July 2020 – ten days ago. Both of our affected colleagues called in to let us know they were feeling unwell and consequently had themselves tested.
All team members that were in close contact with these colleague have been identified and have been instructed to self-quarantine for the remaining period of the 14-days since last contact with their colleagues. They are being monitored for symptoms of COVID-19 and will only return to the store once we are satisfied that they have not contracted the virus.
A professional cleaning company conducted a deep clean and sanitisation of the store on Saturday, 11 July 2020 – five days ago. All colleagues have been screened throughout this period and have not displayed any symptoms in the time since the affected team member was last in the store.
We wish our affected colleagues well and look forward to welcoming them, and the rest of the team, back to the store.
We will continue our practice of screening our team members on arrival at work daily and during the day, as well as following all hygiene protocols – including sanitising hands and surfaces, practising social distancing and wearing masks.
As we have followed all required hygiene protocols – our own, as well as the regulations as set out by government, Food Lover’s Market Menlyn is open this morning and we look forward to welcoming you back to store.
