The final round of the Cape Argus Food Lover’s Market High Schools Quiz is taking place on Saturday 19 August 2017 at Oaklands High School, Cape Town from 2pm. The final four best teams from around the Cape Peninsula will compete a grand Prize. This prize consists of R200 000 in cash which they will win for their school. After several knock out round which have taken place over the last few weeks, this will be a tight competition for the prestigious title.

Careers Expo:

In addition to the Quiz, there will also be a Careers Expo for students to attend. This is aimed at helping them to decide on which potential careers they can opt for. It will be taking place at the same venue from 09h00 to 13h00 that day.

Why Food Lover’s Market has partnered with this event:

Food Lover’s Market has been a proud supporter of this event for four consecutive years. The annual Cape Argus Food Lover’s Market High Schools Quiz encourages school students to test their knowledge of current affairs and news that can be found within the pages of the Cape Argus newspaper. There are several rounds that students from several schools across the Peninsula participate in. On Saturday 19 August, we will witness the final round. At Food Lover’s Market, we proudly support the event because “we want to empower the leaders of tomorrow” (Niresh Mangaru, Director – Food Lover’s Market).

At Food Lover’s Market, we strongly believe that education shouldn’t ever be limited. It should be an ongoing process of self-enrichment and investment. Through a partnership with the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, we provide our staff with the opportunity to enroll in programs. These include: Customer Engagement, a Certificate in Retailing and a Retail Store Manager Qualification. This equips our staff with skills that enriches both their personal and professional lives.

As with our staff, we recognise that Food Lover’s Market customers are more than just shoppers. They are individuals with families and busy personal and professional lives and we’re invested in seeing how we can make a positive impact on that lifestyle. We continue to promote healthy eating, active lifestyles and educational investment, by partnering with events such the Cape Argus Food Lover’s Market High Schools Quiz.

We wish all of the teams competing the very best of luck and may the best team win! You can follow what’s happening here.
