George Covid-19 News
20th Nov 2020
20 November 2020 – A team member, who works as a manager in the butchery department at Food Lover’s Market George, has tested positive for Covid-19. Her last day at work was on Saturday, 14 November 2020 – six days ago. This team member called in to let us know she is feeling unwell and she consequently had herself tested on Monday, 16 November 2020. We were formally advised today that she has tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, 17 November 2020.
A second team member, working as a cashier has also tested positive for Covid-19. Our colleague was last at work on Monday, 16 November 2020 and had herself tested on Tuesday, 17 November 2020. We were formally advised of the positive test result on Thursday, 19 November 2020.
All team members that were in close contact with these colleagues have been identified and have been instructed to self-quarantine for the remaining period of the 10-days since the last contact with their colleague. They are being monitored for symptoms of COVID-19 and will only return to the store once we are satisfied that they have not contracted the virus.
A professional cleaning company conducted a deep clean and sanitisation of the store on Sunday, 15 November 2020 and Tuesday, 17 November 2020 respectively – when our colleagues were screened and sent home. All colleagues have been screened throughout this period and have not displayed any symptoms in the time since the affected team member was last in the store.
We wish our affected colleagues well and look forward to welcoming them, and the rest of the team, back to the store.
We will continue our practice of screening our team members on arrival at work daily and during the day, as well as following all hygiene protocols – including sanitising hands and surfaces, practising social distancing and wearing masks.
As we have followed all required hygiene protocols – our own, as well as the regulations as set out by the government, Food Lover’s Market George is open and we look forward to welcoming you back to store.
