George Covid-19 News

30th Nov 2020

30 November 2020 – A team member, who works as a General Assistant in the Butchery department at Food Lover’s Market George, has tested positive for Covid-19. Her last day at work was on Thursday, 12 November 2020 – eighteen days ago. This team member was sent home as she is a close contact of someone who tested positive for Covid-19 and consequently had herself tested on Friday, 20 November 2020. We were formally advised today that she has tested positive for COVID-19.

This team member had no close contacts.

A professional cleaning company has deep cleaned and sanitised the store several times since our colleague was sent home – the last of which was on Friday, 20 November 2020. All colleagues have been screened throughout this period and have not displayed any symptoms in the time since the affected team member was last in the store.

We wish our affected colleague well and look forward to welcoming her back to the store.

We will continue our practice of screening our team members on arrival at work daily and during the day, as well as following all hygiene protocols – including sanitising hands and surfaces, practising social distancing and wearing masks.

As we have followed all required hygiene protocols – our own, as well as the regulations as set out by the government, Food Lover’s Market George is open and we look forward to welcoming you back to store.
