Food Lover’s Market Hermanus COVID-19 News

02 June 2020 – A team member, who works in the bakery department at Food Lover’s Market Hermanus, has tested positive for COVID-19. Our colleague was last in the store on 27 May 2020, five days ago. This team member was a close contact of someone who tested positive for COVID-19 in her home and we consequently referred her to be tested – she did not return to work after the day of referral. We were made aware of the positive test result yesterday evening.

All employees that had direct contact with the team member have been instructed to self-quarantine for the remaining period of the 14-days since last contact with their colleague and are being monitored for any symptoms of COVID-19. As a further precaution, we have opened today with an entirely new team.

The store was deep cleaned and sanitised by a professional cleaning company last night (1 June 2020). In the interest of transparency, we have let you know about this development and how we have already addressed it. We will continue our practice of screening our colleagues on arrival at work daily and during the day.

We wish our affected colleague well and look forward to her returning to work, along with the rest of our team.

Food Lover’s Market Hermanus is open and practicing all COVID-19 hygiene procedures – including social distancing, wearing masks and sanitising. We look forward to welcoming you to our store for your next shop.
