Knysna Covid-19 News

20th Nov 2020

20 November 2020 – A team member, working in the Nut Bar at Food Lover’s Market Knysna, has tested positive for Covid-19. Her last day at work was on Sunday, 15 November 2020 – five days ago. This team member called in to let us know she is feeling unwell and consequently had herself tested on Monday, 16 November 2020. We were informally advised of her Covid-19 test results today.

A second member of the team, working in the Cut Veg department, also called in to let us know she is feeling unwell. Her last day in the store was Saturday, 14 November 2020 – six days ago. She had herself tested on Monday, 16 November 2020. We were informally advised of her Covid-19 test results today.

All team members that were in close contact with these colleagues have been identified and have been instructed to self-quarantine for the remaining period of the 10-days since last contact with their colleague. They are being monitored for symptoms of COVID-19 and will only return to the store once we are satisfied that they have not contracted the virus.

A professional cleaning company conducted a deep clean and sanitisation of the store on Wednesday, 18 November 2020 – after our colleagues were tested for Covid-19. All colleagues have been screened throughout this period and have not displayed any symptoms in the time since the affected team member was last in the store.

We wish our affected colleagues well and look forward to welcoming them, and the rest of the team, back to the store.

We will continue our practice of screening our team members on arrival at work daily and during the day, as well as following all hygiene protocols – including sanitising hands and surfaces, practicing social distancing and wearing masks.

As we have followed all required hygiene protocols – our own, as well as the regulations as set out by government, Food Lover’s Market Knysna is open and we look forward to welcoming you back to store.
