La Lucia Covid-19 News
18th Dec 2020
18 December 2020 – A colleague, who works in the restaurant at Food Lover’s Market La Lucia, has tested positive for Covid-19. His last day at work was on Tuesday, 15 December 2020 – three days ago. This team member was tested for Covid-19 when he went to the hospital for an unrelated reason on Friday, 11 December 2020 – this was part of the admissions protocol. We were formally advised yesterday of the positive test result.
All team members that were in close contact with this colleague have been identified and have been instructed to self-quarantine for the remaining period of the 10-days since the last contact with their colleague. They are being monitored for symptoms of COVID-19 and will only return to the store once we are satisfied that they have not contracted the virus.
The store was closed and a professional cleaning company conducted a deep clean and sanitisation of the store yesterday, Thursday, 17 December 2020. All colleagues have been screened throughout this period and have not displayed any symptoms in the time since the affected team member was last in the store.
We wish our affected colleague well and look forward to welcoming him, and the rest of the team, back to the store.
As we have followed all required hygiene protocols – our own, as well as the regulations as set out by the government, Food Lover’s Market Hermanus is open and we look forward to welcoming you back to store.
