Long Beach Covid-19 News

26th Jun 2020

26 June 2020 – A team member, who worked as a cashier at Food Lover’s Market Long Beach, has tested positive for Covid-19. She was last in the store on Thursday, 25 June 2020 – one day ago. Our colleague was screened as part of our daily wellness checks and was consequently sent home for self-isolation. We were made aware of the positive test result today.

We have temporarily closed Food Lover’s Market Long Beach today to allow a professional cleaning company to deep clean and sanitise the store this evening.
All employees that had direct contact with the team member have been instructed to self-quarantine for the remaining period of the 14-days since the last contact with their colleague and are being monitored for any symptoms of COVID-19. They are being monitored for symptoms of COVID-19 and will only return to the store once we are satisfied that they have not contracted the virus.

We wish our affected colleague well and look forward to welcoming her back, along with the rest of the team.

We intend to reopen tomorrow morning – 27 June 2020, with a new team and once we are completely satisfied that all hygiene protocols have been completed.

We will continue our practice of screening our team members on arrival at work daily and during the day, as well as following all hygiene protocols- including sanitising hands and surfaces, practising social distancing and wearing masks.
