Market Liquors Upington Covid-19 News

21 September 2020 – A team member, who works as a Cashier at Market Liquors Upington, has tested positive for Covid-19. She was last in the store on Monday, 14 September 2020 – seven days ago. This team member was screened as part of our daily wellness checks and was sent home because she wasn’t feeling well. She consequently had herself tested on Monday, 14 September 2020 and we were advised of the positive test result yesterday. In the interest of transparency, we are letting you know about this development and how we have already addressed it.

All team members that were in close contact with this colleague have been identified and have been instructed to self-quarantine for the remaining period of the 14-days since last contact with their colleague. They are being monitored for symptoms of COVID-19 and will only return to the store once we are satisfied that they have not contracted the virus.

A professional cleaning company conducted a deep clean and sanitisation of the store on Thursday, 17 September 2020 – after our colleague advised us that she was tested for Covid-19. All colleagues have been screened throughout this period and have not displayed any symptoms in the time since the affected team member was last in the store.

We wish our affected colleague well and look forward to welcoming her, and the rest of the team, back to the store.

We will continue our practice of screening our team members on arrival at work daily and during the day, as well as following all hygiene protocols – including sanitising hands and surfaces, practicing social distancing and wearing masks.

As we have taken the necessary precautions to keep our team and customers safe, the Market Liquors Upington store is open and we welcome you back to our store for your next shop.
