Menlyn Covid-19 News

02 June 2021 – A team member, who works in the Admin department at Food Lover’s Market Menlyn, has tested positive for Covid-19. Her last day at work was on Sunday, 30 May 2021 – three days ago. This team member called in sick as she was feeling unwell. She consequently had herself tested on Tuesday, 01 June 2021 and we were formally advised of the positive test result today.

This team member had one close contact, who has been identified and instructed to self-quarantine for the remaining period of the 10-days since the last contact with said colleague. They are being monitored for symptoms of COVID-19 and will only return to the store once we are satisfied that they have not contracted the virus.

A professional cleaning company conducted a deep clean and sanitisation of the store on Tuesday, 01 June 2021 – after we were advised that our colleague has been tested for Covid-19. All colleagues have been screened throughout this period and have not displayed any symptoms in the time since the affected team members were last in the store.

We wish our affected colleague well and look forward to welcoming her, and our other colleague, back to the store.

We will continue our practice of screening our team members on arrival at work daily and during the day, as well as following all hygiene protocols – including sanitising hands and surfaces, practising social distancing and wearing masks.

As we have followed all required hygiene protocols – our own, as well as the regulations as set out by the government, Food Lover’s Market Menlyn is open and we look forward to welcoming you back to the store.
