Menlyn Mall Covid-19 News

1st Jan 2021

01 January 2021 – A team member, who works in the Bakery Department at Food Lover’s Market Menlyn, has tested positive for Covid-19. His last day at work was on Monday, 28 December 2020 – four days ago. This team member called in because he felt unwell and consequently had himself tested on Tuesday, 29 December 2020. We were formally advised of the positive test result today.

This colleague had one close contact, and we have instructed this team member to self-quarantine for the remaining period of the 10-days since the last contact with said colleague. This colleague is being monitored for symptoms of COVID-19 and will only return to the store once we are satisfied that this team member has not contracted the virus.

A professional cleaning company conducted a deep clean and sanitisation of the store on Tuesday, 29 December 2020 – on the day our colleague had himself tested for Covid-19. All colleagues have been screened throughout this period and have not displayed any symptoms in the time since the affected team members were last in the store.

We wish our affected colleague well and look forward to welcoming him, and our other colleague, back to the store.

As we have followed all required hygiene protocols – our own, as well as the regulations as set out by government, Food Lover’s Market Menlyn is open and we look forward to welcoming you back to store.
