Metlife Covid-19 News

17th Jul 2020

17 July 2020 – A team member, who works in the Fruit & Veg department at Food Lover’s Market Metlife, has tested positive for Covid-19. His last day at work was on Thursday, 02 July 2020 – fifteen days ago. This team member let us know, via our colleague hotline, that he is feeling unwell and consequently had himself tested on 07 July 2020 (ten days ago). We were advised of the positive test result today.

The close contacts of our colleague were identified, but the 14-day prescribed quarantine period has elapsed in the interim and the close contacts remain at work.

A professional cleaning company has twice conducted a deep clean and sanitisation of the store on Friday, 03 July 2020 and Wednesday, 08 July 2020 – respectively when our colleague let us know he felt unwell and after he was tested. All colleagues have been screened throughout this period and have not displayed any symptoms in the time since the affected team member was last in the store.

We wish our affected colleague well and look forward to welcoming him back to the store.

We will continue our practice of screening our team members on arrival at work daily and during the day, as well as following all hygiene protocols – including sanitising hands and surfaces, practising social distancing and wearing masks.

As we have followed all required hygiene protocols – our own, as well as the regulations as set out by the government, Food Lover’s Market George is open and we look forward to welcoming you back to store.
