Metlife Covid-19 News

11 July 2020 – A team member, who works as a day shift Fruit and Veg Merchandiser at Food Lover’s Market Metlife Mall, has tested positive for Covid-19. His last day at work was yesterday- Friday, 10 July 2020. We were advised of the positive test result late last night.

All team members that were in close contact with this colleague have been identified and have been instructed to self-quarantine for the remaining period of the 14-days since the last contact with their colleague. They are being monitored for symptoms of COVID-19 and will only return to the store once we are satisfied that they have not contracted the virus. As a precaution, the remaining members of staff who were on duty with the affected colleague have also been sent home for observation.

A professional cleaning company conducted a deep clean and sanitisation of the store early this morning – Saturday, 11 July 2020. The store has reopened with an entirely new shift who had no contact with the affected colleague.

We wish our affected colleague well and look forward to welcoming him, and the rest of the team, back to the store.

We will continue our practice of screening our team members on arrival at work daily and during the day, as well as following all hygiene protocols – including sanitising hands and surfaces, practising social distancing and wearing masks.

As we have followed all required hygiene protocols – our own, as well as the regulations as set out by the government, Food Lover’s Market Metlife Mall  is open and we look forward to welcoming you back to store.
