Nelspruit Covid-19 News

12th Aug 2020

12 August 2020 – Two team members, respectively working as a Cashier and in the Short Cuts department at Food Lover’s Market Nelspruit, have tested positive for Covid-19. Their last day at work was on Monday, 03 August 2020 – eight days ago. The first team member was screened as part of our daily wellness checks and was sent home because she wasn’t feeling well. The second team member was already in self-isolation as she was a close contact of someone who had tested positive for Covid-19. Both colleagues consequently had themselves tested on Tuesday, 04 August 2020 and Thursday, 06 August 2020. We were advised today that both team members have tested positive for COVID-19.

All team members that were in close contact with these colleagues have been identified and have been instructed to self-quarantine for the remaining period of the 14-days since last contact with their colleagues. They are being monitored for symptoms of COVID-19 and will only return to the store once we are satisfied that they have not contracted the virus.

A professional cleaning company conducted a deep clean and sanitisation of the store on Monday, 03 August 2020 – on the day our colleagues were last at work. All colleagues have been screened throughout this period and have not displayed any symptoms in the time since the affected team member was last in the store.

We wish our affected colleagues well and look forward to welcoming them, and the rest of the team, back to the store.

We will continue our practice of screening our team members on arrival at work daily and during the day, as well as following all hygiene protocols – including sanitising hands and surfaces, practicing social distancing and wearing masks.

As we have followed all required hygiene protocols – our own, as well as the regulations as set out by government, Food Lover’s Market Nelspruit is open and we look forward to welcoming you back to store.
