Somerset West Covid-19 News

8th Jul 2020

08 July 2020 – A team member, who works in the Butchery department at Food Lover’s Market Somerset West, has tested positive for Covid-19. His last full day at work was on Saturday, 27 June 2020 – eleven days ago. We were made aware of the positive test result on Monday, 06 July 2020. In the interest of transparency, we are letting you know about this development and how we have already addressed it.

All team members that were in close contact with this colleague have been identified and have been instructed to self-quarantine for the remaining period of the 14-days since the last contact with their colleague. They are being monitored for symptoms of COVID-19 and will only return to the store once we are satisfied that they have not contracted the virus.

We conducted a deep clean and sanitisation of the store by a professional cleaning company on Friday, 03 July 2020 – five days ago. All colleagues have been screened throughout this period and have not displayed any symptoms in the time since the affected team member was last in the store.

We wish our affected colleague well and look forward to welcoming him, and the rest of the team, back to the store.

We will continue our practice of screening our team members on arrival at work daily and during the day, as well as following all hygiene protocols – including sanitising hands and surfaces, practising social distancing and wearing masks.

As we have followed all required hygiene protocols – our own, as well as the regulations as set out by the government, Food Lover’s Market Somerset West is open and we look forward to welcoming you back to store.
