Summer Refreshments for the Crowd

Impress your guests with homemade and delicious refreshments this summer! It’s always lovely when your guests can enjoy some beautiful and exciting refreshments. It does not have to be anything over the top or time consuming but your first step to the summer season is to make sure you have a beautiful glass jug to make some amazing summer drinks in.

If you don’t have much time, all you need to do is add some fresh fruits to ice water in your jug and allow it to infuse before your guests arrive. It looks beautiful and the taste is always fresh and interesting. Here are some combos to try:

– Lemon, mint and cucumber

– Strawberry, Lime and basil

– Watermelon and mint

– Kiwi and Cucumber

– Orange and Blueberry

– Rosemary and Grapefruit

Coconut Water Pink Lemonade

Strawberry Lemonade: Blend a punnet of strawberries in a blender until pureed. Add the puree to lemonade and/or sparkling water, stir in some lemon juice and a touch of honey for extra sweetness.

Raspberry Spritzers: Stir up some raspeberries, a tablespoon of raspberry jam and the juice of a lemon. Mix in lemonade and gingerale and garnish with fresh slices of lemon and mint.

Pineapple and Thyme Ice Tea: Brew 4 cups of green tea (or rooibos) and add thyme to the boiling water. Once infused, discard the teabags and thyme, stir in half a fresh pineapple (chunks) and 4 cups of cold water. Add ice, give it a stir and serve.
