Upington Covid-19 News
7th Sep 2020
07 September 2020 – A team member, who works in the Short Cuts department at Food Lover’s Market Upington, has tested positive for Covid-19. She was last in the store on Wednesday, 26 August 2020 – eleven days ago. This team member called in to let us know she is feeling unwell. She consequently had herself tested on Friday, 28 August 2020 and we were advised of the positive test result on Sunday, 06 September 2020.
All team members that were in close contact with this colleague have been identified and have been instructed to self-quarantine for the remaining period of the 14-days since the last contact with their colleague. They are being monitored for symptoms of COVID-19 and will only return to the store once we are satisfied that they have not contracted the virus.
A professional cleaning company conducted a deep clean and sanitisation of the store on Friday, 28 August 2020 – on the day our colleague advised us that she has been tested for Covid-19. All colleagues have been screened throughout this period and have not displayed any symptoms in the time since the affected team member was last in the store.
We wish our affected colleague well and look forward to welcoming her, and the rest of the team, back to the store.
We will continue our practice of screening our team members on arrival at work daily and during the day, as well as following all hygiene protocols – including sanitising hands and surfaces, practising social distancing and wearing masks.
As we have taken the necessary precautions to keep our team and customers safe, the Food Lover’s Market Upington store is open and we welcome you back to our store for your next shop.
