Vanderbijlpark Covid-19 News

19th Dec 2020

19 December 2020 – A colleague, who works as a Cashier at Food Lover’s Market Vanderbijlpark, has tested positive for Covid-19. Her last day at work was on Wednesday, 16 December 2020 – three days ago. This team member tested for Covid-19 on Thursday, 17 December 2020. While we were informed of the test result today, our colleague did not inform us that she was tested for Covid-19 on Thursday. In the interest of transparency, we are letting you know about these developments and how we are addressing them.

All team members that were in close contact with this colleague have been identified and have been instructed to self-quarantine for the remaining period of the 10-days since last contact with their colleague. They are being monitored for symptoms of COVID-19 and will only return to the store once we are satisfied that they have not contracted the virus.

We have closed the store temporarily this morning to conduct an immediate deep clean and sanitisation by a professional cleaning company. We will reopen the store once we are completely satisfied that all hygiene protocols have been completed. All colleagues have been screened throughout this period and have not displayed any symptoms in the time since the affected team member was last in the store.

We wish our affected colleagues well and look forward to welcoming them, and the rest of the team, back to the store.

We will continue our practice of screening our team members on arrival at work daily and during the day, as well as following all hygiene protocols – including sanitising hands and surfaces, practicing social distancing and wearing masks.

Food Lover’s Market Vanderbijlpark will be open for business as soon as the deep cleaning has been competed and we look forward to welcoming you back to store.
