Westgate Covid-19 News

27th Dec 2020

27 December 2020 – A team member, who works in the Grocery Department at Food Lover’s Market Westgate, has tested positive for Covid-19. Her last day at work was on Tuesday, 22 December 2020 – five days ago. This team member was screened as part of our daily wellness checks and sent home. She consequently had herself tested on Thursday, 24 December 2020. We were informally advised today of the positive test result. In the interest of transparency we are letting you know about these developments and how we have already addressed them

All team members that were in close contact with this colleague have been identified and have been instructed to self-quarantine for the remaining period of the 10-days since last contact with their colleague. They are being monitored for symptoms of COVID-19 and will only return to the store once we are satisfied that they have not contracted the virus.

A professional cleaning company conducted a deep clean and sanitisation of the store on Saturday, 26 December 2020 – when we were advised that our colleague has been tested for Covid-19. All colleagues have been screened throughout this period and have not displayed any symptoms in the time since the affected team members were last in the store.

We wish our affected colleagues well and look forward to welcoming her, and the rest of the team, back to the store.

As we have followed all required hygiene protocols – our own, as well as the regulations as set out by government, Food Lover’s Market Westgate is open and we look forward to welcoming you back to store.
