The inland stores of Food Lovers Market made it their mission this World Hunger Day to feed as many vulnerable people as possible on Tuesday 28th May.    They took the initiative and, armed with pots loaded with freshly made vegetable soup, they hit the streets.  They served in squatter camps, informal settlements and Educare centres, where their hot broth was most welcome.

In the stores that have no hot food counters, and therefore no kitchen, our colleagues brought their own pots and cooked on braai stands, just to make sure that they did not miss out on the love.   Every one of the stores joined in and a total of 2020 people were fed on the day.  We salute all of the colleagues that got involved and gave up their time and labour so selflessly!
