At the Phoenix Survival Centre, a community-based organisation in KwaZulu-Natal, food support does far more than feed people, it helps rebuild lives.
The centre was established to support vulnerable women and families, many of whom are unemployed or facing ongoing hardship. With food supplied through FoodForward SA, the organisation is able to provide regular meals and support to the surrounding community.
For many beneficiaries, this is the difference between getting through the week or going without food entirely.
