Food Lover’s Market extends Bottles of Hope campaign following overwhelming public support

Van Loveren Wines - Bottles of hope - Food Lover's Market

The response to Food Lover’s Market’s Bottles of Hope campaign has been overwhelming, with South Africans rallying behind Van Loveren following the devastating floods that affected the Robertson wine farm earlier this year. So far 480 000 Bottles of Hope have been swept up by customers keen to support the Robertson community.

In response to this incredible support, Food Lover’s Market has extended the initiative, making more than half a million additional Bottles of Hope available at participating stores nationwide (while stocks last).

Created to give flood-affected wine bottles a second chance while helping one of South Africa’s most loved family-owned wineries recover, the campaign has struck a chord with customers who want to make a difference through a simple everyday purchase.

Brian Robberts, Senior Buyer at Food Lover’s Market, says: “We’ve been humbled by the response from our customers. Bottles of Hope has become about so much more than wine. It’s about standing together and helping a proud South African business rebuild. Because of that support, we’ve been able to make even more bottles available so that more customers can be part of Van Loveren’s recovery story.”

Food Lover’s Market is not making a profit from the initiative. The campaign was created to help recover value from stock that would otherwise have gone to waste while supporting a long-standing supplier through an incredibly challenging time.
