On 13 September, Food Lover’s Market was delighted to be able to sponsor the African Climate Reality Project’s screening of the latest Al Gore documentary, “An Inconvenient Sequel” at Ster Kinekors in major cities. Premieres were hosted simultaneously across the country in Cape Town, Durban, Pretoria, and Johannesburg, all being catered for the nearest Food Lover’s Market store.
In our constant attempt to reduce our carbon footprint, all of our platters were prepared on recyclable trays and all of the utensils were 100% biodegradable. On top of that, the entirely vegetarian platters were filled with the healthiest treats we could make (besides the dessert trays of course!). The platters, which can be ordered at your local Food Lover’s Market, went down wonderfully (we’re even sure we spotted some of the guests trying to sneak the snacks into the cinema).
Each screening was preceded by a small talk lead by some of our own local authorities on Global Warming, such as Mayor of Tshwane Solly Msimanga. They were able to enlighten the attendees on the impact to our own communities and what we could all do to fight climate change ourselves.
Congratulations to the ACRP on their successful events, and thanks for offering Food Lover’s Market the opportunity to show our support!
