It has come to the attention of Food Lover’s Market Greendale that some individuals have received emails and WhatsApp messages from a scammer unlawfully and fraudulently impersonating Food Lover’s Market (FLM) management. These fraudulent emails and messages are aimed at swindling unsuspecting suppliers, interested job seekers and members of the public. The scammer’s modus operandi includes: –
- Ordering produce/supplies through unauthorised and unprocedural means.
- Sending fake emails from a Gmail address resembling FLM’s trade name or domain name e.g. honeydew@gmail.com
- Creating fake WhatsApp accounts and sending messages purporting to recruit employees on behalf of FLM.
- Arranging meetings at unusual places.
FLM Greendale warns the public at large against such scams and warns individuals to exercise caution. In particular,
- Suppliers are encouraged to adhere to the company’s procedures of supply and delivery to avoid falling prey to scammers. If you are not sure, it is advisable to verify with the company Management, that the person you are dealing with is a Buyer authorised to make purchases on behalf of FLM and that produce/goods delivered have been properly received and recorded.
- All business-related meetings are held at our offices in Greendale.
- Recruitment of employees is done through the HR department in accordance with set procedures.
- FLM management and staff use official email addresses with the domain name ‘foodlovers.co.zw’. Beware of emails purportedly sent from FLM using Gmail or Yahoo email addresses.
- If you receive emails or WhatsApp messages from anyone posing as the company management or employees that appear even remotely suspicious, notify us immediately.
