We are currently recruiting for the following position:
Financial Accountant – Ambient & Perishable Buying
Location: Western Cape
This position will be based at our Food Lover’s Market Head Office in Brackenfell, Cape Town. Reports directly to the Finance Business Partner and works closely with the Senior Financial Accountant.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintenance of the buying trading terms, calculation, process and review of rebates; and identifying critical stock positions. Maintain healthy supplier relationships and driving projects for the group’s Buying Divisions.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BCom degree or Similar (Preference to: SAIPA qualified)
- Up to 3 year’s commercial experience
- Candidates coming from a similar/same industry preferred
- Experience in Sage 300 will be advantageous.
- Experience in financial and management accounting will be advantageous.
- Advanced level of MS Excel.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Analysis and review of supplier data, rebate schedules, debtor & supplier transactions.
- Calculating rebates from external information and internal database queries.
- Invoicing of rebates and other billings.
- Management of supplier queries for the Buying division and obtaining information from other business units.
- Maintain and update of supplier trade agreements
- Identifying critical stock positions based on defined metrics.
- Display initiative and a strong willingness to learn.
- Design and maintain effective control measures to ensure accuracy of results.
- Identify and implement potential improvements.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Influence others where they are required to improve system and process.
- Good communication skills and interaction with external suppliers and internal stakeholders.
PERSON SPEC:
- Advanced level of MS Excel.
- Highly numerate with the ability to work with quantitative data and work accurately and efficiently.
- Be able to perform repetitive reporting work with passion and increasing efficiency.
- Problem-solving and solutions driven.
- The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and passionate focus on data and results accuracy.
- Good knowledge of Accounts Receivables and Payables and Intercompany Accounts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
