Own a Food Lover's Franchise
Are you interested in opening a Food Lover’s Market franchise?
Food Lover’s Market is a specialist fresh produce retailer, with a unique concept of offering a market feel to the shopping experience and we are focused on growth and great pricing. Founded in 1993, by Mike and Brian Coppin, as a single store in Access Park, Cape Town, the chain now boasts over 320 stores across South Africa, Namibia, Lesotho, Malawi, Angola, Zimbabwe, Mauritius, and other African countries.
The first franchise was opened in 1996, and we are full members of the Franchise Association of South Africa (FASA). Mike Coppin and Dave Hogg head up the franchise and new opportunities division within Food Lover’s Market.
The Food Lovers Market Group encompasses Food Lover’s Market, Food Lover’s Eateries, Freshstop convenience stores, Seattle Coffee Company, Market Liquors, Diamond’s Discount Liquors and FVC International, the largest exporter of fresh produce in South Africa.
The head office is based in Brackenfell, Cape Town and is supported by distribution centres across all the provinces. We have franchise opportunities across South Africa and the rest of Southern Africa and the franchise model is aimed at experienced retailers. The average setup cost is R20-30M, with an owner contribution of 50%. The franchise fee is 2% and the marketing contribution is 0.5% of turnover.
The initial agreement term is set at 10 years. We believe in cementing the right foundations to offer the same consistent value, variety, and fresh produce quality that our brand stands for.
